Using Your Golf Cart In The Rain
In many areas around the country, the rainy season is starting or has started. The question on the minds of many golf cart owner’s minds is how well their carts can handle rain. In this guide created by the experts at Graham Golf Carts, we will do what we can to help you keep your golf cart safe and running well during rainy weather.
Can Golf Carts Handle Rain?
Golf carts, even electric ones, can handle a light drizzle. However, when the rain starts to get heavier or lasts too long, that is when problems can start. While your cart’s interior getting wet is certainly uncomfortable, even worse is the damage your cart’s electrical components can sustain from driving through puddles. If the rainfall gets too heavy, or you experience thunder and lightning, find an indoor space to park your cart. If no indoor space is available, park the cart under a carport or use a tarp.
Safe Driving Tips
While not driving through puddles is one of the most important things you can do to protect your cart, it is far from the only thing. For example, installing a set of windshield wipers can help ensure visibility during a sudden squall. Properly maintained tires will provide better traction on slippery roads. Finally, driving slower and avoiding slopes can help you avoid accidents while driving your cart in the rain.
